Goodbye social media!
Hello, I hope everybody is OK. I have been thinking about ditching social media and I'm now taking that plunge. The final straw was reading a long post about a subject I find interesting only to realise about half way through that it was "written" by AI. The giveaways were the flat, lifeless tone, the lack of flair in sentence structure, the monotony, and ridiculous factual inaccuracies. I thought "What the f**k am I doing?" and finally realised in my heart that social media is no longer fit for purpose. It's junk. It takes up too much of my time, is full of utter rubbish, and I'm wasting the hours left to me on this earth scrolling through this sea of garbage, day in, day out. It used to work OK. I used to see posts from friends and family. It used to connect me to people I want to be connected to. It used to help me publicise and sell my books. It doesn't do those things anymore.
But I'm still around. Here's where to find me:
Here on my website. Please sign up to my newsletters and blog posts. I'm offering a free e-book to all new subscribers.
Substack - I'm serialising my sixth novel over there on a weekly basis. Would love more readers and connections, so please join me.
YouTube - I've resurrected my channel. Readings, reviews, and rants! That's the plan... when I can be bothered to make my hair look half decent and don a little make-up. Gotta be ready for my close-up!

Talking of publicizing books, this baby is back in print! Diana and I have put our heads together and we both felt the same: this book needs to be available so people can still discover it. Such a wonderful novel and one of my proudest achievements as an indie publisher. So, in bringing this book back, I'm sort-of an indie publisher again. I'm going to be contacting indie bookshops later in the year... I Have Plans! If you work in a bookshop you might be hearing from me over the summer! Social media doesn't work, so new approaches are called for.
If you haven't read Diana's book, please do buy it. It's available from wherever you buy your books. I'll never stop banging the drum about this novel and the talented writer who brought it into this world. Don't miss it!
Take care and back soon... perhaps with an update on my post-social-media-life!
